This letter is to announce the 7th annual Howard County Pet Expo!! The Howard County Pet Expo is a fabulous
family/community event that has grown bigger and better each year and we don’t want you to miss out on this
great opportunity!!
This is a non-profit event with the mission being to raise awareness and educate the public regarding the
wonderful, dedicated rescue groups in our area. As you are aware, these groups are non-profit and operate
solely on donations, blood, sweat and tears. They rescue unwanted domestic animals and take care of their
medical needs, foster them, place them up for adoption, screen meticulously for the right home and, god willing,
place them in a forever home. The public, too often, is not aware that such groups exist or do not know
specifically what they do, or how to locate them. This event is great exposure for these groups and allows them
to educate the public as well as drum up critical donations. For the vendors, it is a great way to show case
businesses in and around Howard County. Whether the business is pet related or not, the event gives great
exposure to any business and a chance to personally talk to public about services or products.
We have many events planned including agility demos, obedience demos, K-9 demos, animal massage demos,
micro-chipping on-site, Canine Good Citizen Testing, great raffles, and various presentations, etc. Our band
will be back too along with our wonderful food vendor! We will also have a continental breakfast for all
participants which is a nice way to network and meet other businesses and the rescue groups.
We will have a Welcome Table and programs will be handed out with a directory of vendors and a map to locate
the vendors.
The date of the event is June 8, 2008 with a rain date of June 15th, 2008 (both Sundays). The actual event will
be from 11:00 to 3:00 (participants will arrive at 8:30 to set-up). We will have volunteers available to help you set
up and break down. This year’s event will be high profile and heavily advertised. In addition to being
advertised in the MD Pet Gazette, we will be in Patuxent Publishing, Howard County Parks and Rec. spring
season Calendar of Events (which is on the internet), all the rescue web-sites, fliers and other various
periodicals in Montgomery and Anne Arundel counties as well as various calendars of events. We expect at
least double the amount of vendors, more rescues and a huge turnout from the public. To help with the cost of
this event as well as to help with donations for the rescues, the fee for space (bring your own table) will be
$75.00 if received before May 1, 2008 (Inexpensive for a whole day of advertising! And it is tax deductible!).
After May 1, 2008 the fee is $90.00.
Please don’t miss this opportunity!! You vendors are what make this event a success and we are thankful! Get
on board now! Even though we have a large facility, it is first come first serve and we have already started
advertising in the MD Pet Gazette and various web sites.
You will receive more information as well as a flier to distribute through your business as the event gets closer.
To register, please fill out the attached form and mail the lower portion back with your check made payable to
NoVA (Rottweiler Rescue League and make sure to put HO. CO. PET EXPO in the memo space). Mail to

In the case of rain on both dates, there are no refunds but you will be offered a discounted rate for 2009.
